It is well known that the condition of teeth, tongue, gums, lips, and salivary glands are also related to the overall health of the body. As dentists at Naturadent, we use and recommend homeopathic remedies to our patients every day, for more successful and natural overcoming of their illnesses and faster recovery.

Dentists committed to natural treatments they can feel free to use homeopathic remedies, because dental procedures, dental treatments and the body’s regeneration can be effectively supported by homeopathy and homeopathic remedies.

How does homeopathy work?

Homeopathy is, in essence, a form of stimulus therapy. The with homeopathic remedies An active ingredient administered in extremely small quantities mobilises the body’s natural defence system, the immune system. Homeopathy is a personalised form of treatment that addresses both the symptoms and the patient as a whole. When used correctly, homeopathy is free from side effects and can be recommended for people of all ages.

Wisdom tooth problems

Arnica: A useful painkiller and haemostatic agent for all oral surgery procedures.
Belladonna:if the main symptoms are throbbing pain, localised swelling and redness, and possibly a fever. We recommend this product if localised inflammation develops due to difficulty with the eruption of a wisdom tooth.
Symphytum officinale: It primarily promotes bone formation at the extraction site following the extraction of a lower wisdom tooth.

Oral surgery procedures

For oral surgery dental treatments, the role of homeopathic medicine is to reduce bleeding and pain, promote wound healing, and prevent complications.

Arnica: Its wound-healing, haemostatic and analgesic effects can also be utilised as „pre-treatment” prior to the planned procedure. In this case, a single dose of medium potency is required the evening before, to be repeated on the morning and evening of the day of the operation. If use is commenced after the procedure, a medium or, where appropriate, high potency is recommended for 2–3–4 days. It is also advisable to take one dose of Arnica daily for a few days in the case of wounds or ulcers caused by deep fillings or dental prostheses.
Hypericum:in cases of severe pain following surgery, or in cases of trauma involving nerve damage, or in cases of long, difficult, „challenging” tooth extractions.
Hepar sulphuris: in cases of acute suppuration, abscess formation or stabbing pain. It helps to promote the absorption of pus following oral surgery.
Symphytum: if our aim is to promote bone formation. Bone grafting prior to implantation Its use is recommended in such cases.
Staphysagria: For the healing of cuts and lacerations (whether accidental or surgical). Recommended until the stitches are removed (approx. 7–10 days). Also recommended following laser oral surgery.
Ledum: for the treatment of puncture wounds and complications caused by injections (bruising), and for post-injection pain.
Magnesium phosphoricum: temporomandibular joint pain, in the event of muscle spasms, which rarely occur during prolonged procedures or oral surgery.
Ruta: the role of the periosteum. Ruta is particularly useful in regenerative surgery for loose teeth and in orthodontics, during dental implant surgery, for root canal treatment, symptoms caused by injections, and bone injuries.

For teething in infants and toddlers

The Paediatric dentistry This is a very sensitive area of dentistry that requires a great deal of attention and care. Particular attention must be paid to how we interact with children and how we make dental treatment a pleasant experience for them.

Because we need to make sure that children do not have an experience at the dentist's, and do not leave with an experience that their fears and traumas deter them from attending regular, normal dental treatments and check-ups for decades. Which would prevent toothaches, more serious dental diseases, gingivitis and periodontal disease, which are common diseases.

Dental hygiene advice is the best possible way to teach and practice good dental care for children. If we pay attention to these and seek the help of a paediatric dentist in time, the most common paediatric dental problems could be eliminated very quickly, painlessly and playfully.

Chamomilla: It is needed when a child who is otherwise calm starts behaving „unbearably” (getting angry, thrashing about, shouting) and will only calm down when carried in their mother’s arms. The child sleeps poorly, often on the side where a tooth is coming through, and their cheek becomes red. The child’s teeth are coming through with difficulty and slowly. This is often accompanied by greenish diarrhoea.
Rheumatism: in cases of teething accompanied by severe diarrhoea with a sour smell (the whole child, e.g. even their sweat, has a sour smell).
Soluble mercury: Excessive salivation, bad breath, a swollen tongue, visible tooth marks on the surface of the tongue, and inflamed gums. Diarrhoea is a common accompanying symptom.
Aethusa: if a young child’s teething is accompanied by vomiting, cramp-like pain, restlessness and weakness.

Herpes, afta

Herpes and aphta, which recur regularly, are considered chronic diseases and should be treated by a homeopathic doctor. The following homeopathic remedies may ease or alleviate the symptoms, but they will not prevent the recurrence of the disease!

In the treatment of aphthous stomatitis, or inflammatory lesions of the oral mucosa, it can be important to identify food allergies and establish a more balanced diet, as well as to supplement and regularly take certain vitamins and minerals to strengthen the body's immune system.

Borax: mouth ulcers, thrush in infants (supplemented with topical treatment) – primary homeopathic remedy
Hydrastis: if the child’s saliva is thick and sticky, and their tongue has indentations, but there is no bad breath.
Soluble mercury: primarily in cases of painful, blistering lesions covering the entire oral mucosa (usually caused by a virus), where symptoms include excessive salivation, bad breath, a swollen tongue and inflamed gums.
Nitric acid: in cases of ulcerative lesions on the oral mucosa that are accompanied by a stabbing pain and bleeding.
Potassium bichromicum: yellow or yellow-green ulcers, a metallic taste, and a prickly sensation on the tongue. Herpes Apis mellifica: If there is only mild swelling, a tingling sensation or a pink discolouration, applying a cold compress (e.g. an ice cube) to the area can help. If applied in good time, this can prevent the development of large blisters.
Rhus toxicodendron: the blistering stage of herpes. This stage is also accompanied by pain and itching.
Sodium muriaticum: It is particularly effective when the herpes outbreak has been triggered by excessive sun exposure, sea air or the consumption of salty, seafood-based dishes. It is suitable for small, glass-bead-like blisters accompanied by a burning pain.
Cantharis: in the case of large, contiguous blisters.

Gum disease

A fogágybetegség manapság a népesség 99%-át érinti Magyarországon. Ennek fő oka az elhanyagolt szájhigiénia, de elsősorban (nem számítva a különböző kísérőbetegségeket) fiatalkori formájában jellegzetes egyéni genetikai hajlammal is számolni kell.

Periodontal disease begins with gingivitis, which through regular dental check-ups and can be prevented by tartar removal and polishing carried out by a dental hygienist.

It's important to know that recent research has suggested that untreated periodontal disease is the cause of some serious conditions, such as heart attacks, cerebrovascular disease, premature birth and the birth of a low birth weight baby.

Causes of periodontal disease

The most important ones, which can be prevented with thorough dental care and regular dental check-ups, are: plaque, tartar, gingivitis, bleeding gums, unremoved food debris, tooth loss, and one-sided chewing.

IMPORTANT! If you are experiencing any of the symptoms of periodontal disease, please seek the help of our dentists and periodontists. Periodontal disease is not a game! You can easily lose your teeth if you don't act in time!

Periodontal disease is more common in men and typically occurs in old age. Genetic and hormonal factors (puberty, pregnancy, menopause, taking contraceptive pills), metabolic diseases (diabetes, thyroid, parathyroid disease), blood disorders, immunological damage, stress, anxiety, smoking, and certain medications (e.g., blood pressure medications) can also contribute to its development.

Homeopathic symptomatic medicines

Soluble mercury: in cases of acute inflammation, excessive salivation, an unusual taste in the mouth, bad breath, gum pockets, a coated, flaccid tongue, pain, or a tendency to develop abscesses.
Phosphorus: in cases of chronic inflammation, bleeding, a dry mouth or a smooth tongue, where there is no bad breath.
Silicea:in cases of chronically recurring suppuration, chronic inflammation or bone destruction.
Potassium carbonicum: in cases of pus-filled sacs, excessive salivation, a bad taste in the mouth and bad breath. The tongue may be pale or coated, and digestive problems are also common.
Staphysagria: Bleeding is the most prominent symptom (often associated with menstruation); there is no bone loss; there are many decayed teeth and black tartar; and pain is felt even in healthy teeth.
Calcium carbonicum:in cases of persistent, mild bleeding, a sour taste in the mouth, bad breath or a dry mouth.
Arsenicum album: a dry, burning mouth; wandering pains in the teeth and jawbones. Thuja:prominent periodontal disease associated with mouth ulcers, drug-induced gum swelling, and tooth decay at the roots of the teeth.

Toothache, severe neuralgic pain

Aconitum: A very severe, intense pain that begins very suddenly and violently, and which worsens in the cold; it is often triggered by a cold draught or exposure to the cold. Severe fright or shock may also trigger or accompany the symptoms.
Arnica:in the event of toothache following a deep filling.
Arsenicum album: A burning, stabbing pain that improves with hot or warm drinks (e.g. by sipping them in the mouth), cold compresses, or rest. It occurs or worsens at night, around midnight, or when exposed to the cold.
Coffea: in cases of neuralgic toothache. When the pain and all other sensory stimuli become almost unbearable. Holding ice-cold water in the mouth or sucking on an ice cube may help, whilst warm or hot food and drink, or strong emotional stress, can make the condition worse.
Hypericum: In cases of severe, shooting pain following a tooth extraction, a tooth with a fractured root, facial nerve neuralgia, or symptoms arising during very deep fillings or grinding. It is excellent for treating sensory nerve symptoms caused by injections (numbness, pain) and for resolving trismus following oral surgery.
Causticum: Facial nerve pain caused by a cold draught or triggered by emotional factors, possibly accompanied by symptoms of paralysis, twitching or visual disturbances. In cases of burning pain.

Jaw joint problems

Jaw joint pain In such cases, an examination by an orthodontist is absolutely essential, during which the condition of our patients’ teeth is assessed, including whether an unbalanced bite, malocclusion, incorrect tooth contact, clenching or grinding of the teeth are present as the underlying causes of the jaw joint pain.

There are many different ways of addressing these problems, the from biostimulation ranging from splint therapy to self-ligating braces.
Magnesium phosphoricum: A homeopathic remedy for muscle spasms. When symptoms are aggravated by the cold, exhaustion or touch, and relieved by warmth, pressure or rubbing. It is typically characterised by neuralgic, spasmodic facial pain on the right side, which occurs mainly at night.
Copper metal: Following on from the previous one, this is the second homeopathic antispasmodic to be chosen. Characteristic symptoms include a sensation of cold, cold sweats, a cold face and a bluish discolouration of the lips.
Rhus toxicodendron: a crunching, clicking sound that occurs easily when the jaw joint is stiff.
Bryonia: in cases of joint inflammation, where even the slightest movement (e.g. opening the mouth) causes severe pain.
