Curettage second round – the circle closes

I still sat down in the chair a little nervously on the second day, even though the first experiences had exceeded all my expectations. However, it seems that so many years of fear cannot be banished by just one good experience. The pricks, pressures, scratches, and probably unpleasant intrusions followed, of which I barely felt anything in the rarest of cases.

And what I felt during the curettage had nothing to do with the concept of pain.

During the treatment, I remembered my boss's words, who said he once dozed off in the chair. I thought of it because after a while, I also managed to completely relax. Although I didn't get to the point of almost falling asleep, the second day brought a feeling of complete calm.

A wonderful feeling came over me as the dentist meticulously removed the tartar from beneath my gums, millimetre by millimetre.

Due to my hectic work, the dentist's chair was the last place where everything suddenly slowed down. I didn't have to worry about my work, I knew that for that time I was completely dedicated to the dental procedure.

However, this procedure didn't take up any of my time at all! It let me rest, which is not something that can be said for much these days.

„We're all done! You can rinse now” – came the sobering words... Back to the real world. Or, rather, a brief discussion beforehand. Arranging an appointment for the next intervention, which will be none other than starting the root canal treatments.

It sounds harsh, as I gathered from other people's reactions afterwards. However, at the time, in that moment, it didn't sound too bad to me. But: four days later my upper right wisdom tooth started to hurt....
