Bone grafting, sinus lift prior to implantation

Dental implants also require a firm, stable foundation. If this is not present, no matter what technique or implant is used, success will not be guaranteed.

We would like your dental restoration to remain stable and reliable for at least another 50-60 years. If there is insufficient bone thickness in your sinus cavity to securely accommodate the dental restoration, our recommended and proven solution is bone grafting, and for the upper jaw, a sinus lift. Sinus grafting, the sinus lift, is a supportive, preparatory, secure foundation-building, safe procedure for you too!

Mi az a csontpótlás?

In bone augmentation, our aim is to increase bone volume through an augmentation procedure. These bone grafting procedures are regenerative, promoting the formation of new bone. Different bone grafting goals require different techniques and different bone grafting materials.

Why is bone grafting necessary?

Bone grafting is necessary if the dental implant needs to be placed in an area with insufficient or inadequate bone density.

Bone grafting may also be justified by the periodontal inflammation of one or more teeth, when after the inflammation of the affected teeth has been eliminated Laser curettage, deep cleaning We are carrying out the treatment regeneratively.

The process of bone grafting

Thanks to scientific advancements, there are now more materials available for bone replacement. At Naturadent Laser Dentistry, we only use the highest quality materials with the best clinical trials, which have also proven successful here.

There are human bone graft materials, there are animal-derived ones (xenografts), and the best are granules obtained and prepared from the patient's own bone during surgery. At our clinic, it is also common to use bone graft materials created from a mixture of these substances.

All bone graft procedures are performed under local anaesthetic, meaning you will not feel any pain during the bone graft.

To promote bone grafting in certain cases We use different membranes, these can be resorbable collagen membranes, or non-resorbable membranes., which fix the granular bone graft material onto the patient's bone throughout the entire bone grafting healing period.

Steps of bone grafting briefly

  1. We anaesthetise the area
  2. We incise the gum and expose the sinus membrane with an „window” technique on the bone
  3. We are introducing bone graft material through the bone window.
  4. We close the „window” with a membrane”
  5. Seal the incision with a suture.
  6. In one week, there's a check-up and suture removal.

Is bone grafting safe?

Yes. Regardless of the type of bone substitute material for which its use is indicated, bone substitute materials available on the medical market are released in a completely sterile flora.

These are completely free of protein and pathogens. These materials are heat-treated at high temperatures, thus not only is the possibility of transmitting various diseases ruled out, but the development of any potential allergic reactions is also completely impossible.

Pain and swelling after bone grafting are natural phenomena; there is no need to be alarmed if a large bruise appears on the skin after the bone graft.

What are the complications of bone replacement? What are the complications of oral surgery?

At Naturadent laser dentistry, implant and oral surgery procedures are carried out by highly qualified specialists (Master of Science degree from the University of Münster) using the highest quality materials.

Naturally, all medical interventions carry health risks. Despite this, our highly qualified and experienced oral surgeon dentists always ensure that the procedure is painless and minimise potential complications.

The Naturadent Laser Dental Clinic adheres to strict sterilisation and hygiene regulations. Despite this, not all risks can be entirely excluded.

Occasionally, the sinus cavity may open after a tooth extraction, but this complication can be managed with immediate flap surgery. A sinus cavity that opens slightly during a sinus lift can be closed with a membrane (fortunately, thanks to modern technology, this is no longer very dangerous and is easily manageable).

Mi az az arcüreg emelés?

During a sinus lift, also known as a sinus augmentation, the inner wall of the sinus is safely lifted from the side of the tooth gap. Bone graft material is then placed into the resulting cavity. This material is typically a mixture of bone chips taken from the patient's own bone and a biocompatible, rapidly integrating bone graft substitute. The intervention is as painless, quick, and safe as possible, and its effectiveness is supported by numerous clinical trials.

After the bone grafting material has set, it will have a strength equivalent to bone and the implant prosthesis can be fixed in it with great confidence.

Mi a csontpótlás eredménye?

  • adequate space for the secure reception of a dental prosthesis
  • suitable strength for long-term, decades-long wear and use
  • The maxillary sinus is not damaged during dental implant surgery.
  • The implanted tooth root will be stable and fixed because it will be placed in a secure, solid foundation.

A sinus lift – or more commonly referred to as a sinus lift – can also be performed when multiple teeth need replacing. Those living in this climatic zone typically have thinner cheekbones, which often necessitates this procedure for perfect and long-term trouble-free tooth replacement.
