We recommend LED light teeth whitening to patients who would like to achieve intensive whitening results in a short time.
Do you know what is the cause of tooth discoloration?
In most cases, the main causes are everyday habits that we are used to and don't even notice they can discolor our teeth. One of these can be smoking, drinking red wine, tea or coffee.
Apart from drinks, certain foods such as tomato sauce, carrots or beetroot can also stain our teeth. Keeping our teeth healthy and white can be achieved with the combination of different techniques.
If you would like to have whiter teeth it is recommended to examine your everyday habits and change them if needed. Ask for the advice of our dental hygienists regarding oral hygiene instructions tailored to your lifestyle and habits. It is also recommended to have LED light whitening to achieve the best results.
What is the process of LED light whitening?
- First of all we professionally clean your teeth
- We cover the sensitive gum with a protective layer
- Next we apply the whitening gel to the teeth
- We light-cure the gel with a special LED light that activates the whitening agent
- We wash the gel off after 15 minutes and to achieve the requested results we repeat the process twice
The result: shades whiter, engaging, attractive bright smile!
Important facts to know before teeth whitening
To achieve the best results it is recommended to have a scale and polish before LED light whitening if needed. If scale and polish are needed then we will need two separate appointments.
The maximum time that can lapse between the two appointments is 14 days. The reason for this is that we need to wait for the gums to heal after the scaling. If the whitening process is done after scaling the results are preferable.
Please be advised that teeth whitening does not affect fillings, crowns, bridges, inlays or onlays as the whitening gel only works on natural tooth structure. If you would like to make them whiter, separate treatments are needed where all restorations are changed one by one.
In case of root canal treated teeth it is common that the tooth discolors from the inside. These teeth cannot be treated by LED light whitening but discoloration can be solved by internal whitening.
Internal whitening has to be done separately but in the same appointment as the whitening of the rest of the teeth. We don't do LED light whitening during pregnancy and in case of discolouration caused by irregularity of the tooth or caused by medicines.
