Many people, even as adults, do not dare to admit their fear of the dentist, which can often lead to them skipping regular check-ups. This phobia affects a significant portion of adult society.<\/p>\n

It is estimated that nearly three quarters of people feel anxiety, worry and stress when they go to the dentist. The level of fear can, of course, be quite extreme and can even lead to a specific panic feeling, which can lead to avoiding the dentist altogether.<\/p>\n

This serious condition is called dentophobia, and there have been several studies in the past, but none of them have been able to pinpoint exactly what causes the fear of the dentist.<\/p>\n

On the one hand, negative experiences of toothache may be a factor, but past experiences certainly play a role, which is less and less common in younger generations of children today.<\/p>\n

In such cases, a small amount of anaesthetic can, of course, be given even for tartar removal, which will make the entire procedure completely painless.<\/p>\n

How to avoid pain after treatment?<\/em><\/h3>\n

One of the important properties of modern anaesthetics is that, when applied correctly, their effect can last for several hours after dental treatment.<\/p>\n

The anaesthetic is sufficient for a filling or even a tooth extraction, so that the patient does not experience any pain after the treatment.<\/p>\n

Anaesthesia is typically used when several teeth, or wisdom teeth, need to be removed at the same time, but it is also very beneficial during implant placement and prior bone grafting.<\/p>\n

In almost all cases, patients need to be anaesthetised for sinus blockage and fractures of the jawbone, as these are major procedures that are not only time-consuming but can also cause discomfort if the right amount of anaesthetic is used.<\/p>\n

The process of dental treatment under anaesthesia<\/em><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

While it is now common practice to put patients to sleep for medical procedures such as gastroscopy, many people are still afraid to do so for dental procedures, even though it is a perfectly safe option.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In all cases, the procedures are preceded by thorough examinations and the anaesthesia is administered by a qualified anaesthetist, who will of course inform you about the anaesthesia procedure, possible side effects and so on.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first step in treatment is a physical examination. Once the specialists have found everything to be in order, the anaesthetist and his assistant help the patient to get comfortable, then the anaesthesia is prepared and the necessary machines start monitoring.<\/p>\n

These are very important to keep track of the patient's vital signs and condition.<\/p>\n
