{"id":2618,"date":"2026-02-27T09:46:48","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T09:46:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/naturadent.hu\/?p=2618"},"modified":"2026-04-22T08:16:43","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T08:16:43","slug":"tips-against-tooth-decay-part-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/naturadent.hu\/en\/tippek-fogszuvasodas-ellen-1-resz\/","title":{"rendered":"Tips against tooth decay - Part 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good oral hygiene, maintained through regular brushing and flossing, is the best defence against tooth decay.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h2-1\">The most important preventive step against tooth decay: cleaning<\/h2>\n<p>Regular tooth brushing can arguably be said to play the biggest role in maintaining the health of our teeth and avoiding tooth decay.<\/p>\n<p>Ideally, brushing your teeth twice a day is done after meals.\u00a0<strong>If you brush your teeth after eating, make sure at least 30 minutes pass, otherwise you could damage your teeth.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 especially if we've eaten foods high in sugar and carbohydrates.<\/p>\n<p>This is important because the acidic effect in our mouths, which is started by the food we consume, erodes and weakens tooth enamel. If we start to rub this eroded layer with a toothbrush, we can remove it, which can lead to tooth sensitivity.<\/p>\n<p>When brushing your teeth, it is also important to use the correct technique, as remaining food particles and plaque can initiate the process of tooth decay.<\/p>\n<p>If we notice it in time\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/naturadent.hu\/en\/blog\/can-tooth-decay-be-reversed\/\">tooth decay<\/a>then in a few moments, even before the pain sets in,\u00a0<a title=\"Caries treatment, dental filling\" href=\"https:\/\/naturadent.hu\/en\/blog\/tooth-decay-treatment-fillings\/\">with laser cavity removal, even without injection and pain<\/a>\u00a0We can solve the problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The selection of a cleaning tool, i.e. a toothbrush, is also of paramount importance!<\/strong>\u00a0You should not use a toothbrush with hard bristles, as you can easily damage even healthy teeth, leading to cervical abrasion or even gum recession.<\/p>\n<p>A soft-bristled toothbrush is also good because its easily bending bristles can better reach hard-to-access places.\u00a0<strong>It doesn't matter if the bristles are of different lengths<\/strong>, because there's a risk that not all areas will be equally clean and free of plaque.<\/p>\n<p>A further consideration is that\u00a0<strong>Make the head size smaller<\/strong>, because this way the back teeth are also easier to clean. What is also important is that we can hold our toothbrush stably, so we should look for the straight-handled, non-bendable versions.<\/p>\n<p>This way we can be sure to wash all areas thoroughly and evenly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h2-2\">Dental Floss \u2013 It helps where the toothbrush can't<\/h2>\n<p>Using dental floss is an important part of oral hygiene. This tool allows us to remove plaque and food debris that are stuck between the teeth in tighter gaps.<\/p>\n<p>Using dental floss allows us to reach areas that are difficult or impossible to clean with a toothbrush.
